fluid. Many different fluids have been employed for this purpose, the one we prefer being Vibert's fluid (Common salt 2 grammes, Mercury Perchloride 0.5 gramme, Distilled water 100 c.c.). The clot is soaked in a few drops of Vibert's fluid in a watch glass for twenty minutes, care being taken to avoid evaporation. Then a portion of the softened clot is gently teased and transferred to a slide by means of a needle, a further drop of Vibert's fluid added, a cover glass put on. and the specimen examined under the 1112 inch objective with the diaphragm nearly closed. The cell debris must be neglected and attention focussed on the thin edge of the clot; and if the specimen is not too much contaminated with gross dirt from the original blood stain, a diagnosis as to whether non-mammalian blood is present or not can, with experience, be made in practically every

Morphological and Morphometric Variations of Erythrocyte in Clarias Gariepinus, Bufo Bufo and Agama Agama Using Some Histological Stains
Introduction: Erythrocytes are highly specialized and the most abundant cell type in vertebrates’ blood. Their main function is the transportation of oxygen to tissues of the body via hemoglobin. Methods: The study was aimed at evaluating erythrocyte morphology in Clarias gariepinus (Cg), Bufo bufo (Bb), and Agama agama (Aa) using different stains; Also, morphometric analysis of erythrocyte w...
متن کاملHistomorphometric study of on blood cells in male adult ostrich
In order to perform a histomorphometric study of blood cells in male adult ostrich, blood samples were obtained from jugular vein of 10 clinically healthy male adult ostriches (2 - 3 years old). The slides were stained with the Giemsa methods and the smears were evaluated for cellular morphology, with cellular size being determined by micrometry. The findings of this study revealed that the sha...

A SI1\IPLE METHOD FOR STAINING non-hemoglobin irOn within erythrocytes aIld their precursors and within macrophages and other cells containing particulate iron has been itl use in our laboratories since 1951 . This method has made possible rapid estimates of the amount of non-hemoglobin iron ill the marrow and in the blood in both new and old films of marrow or blood as well as in both newT and...
متن کاملComparison of the Results of Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy Specimens and Permanent Histopathologic Preparation in Orbital Mass Lesions
Background and Objectives: We aimed at evaluating the efficacy of fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNA) in comparison with histopathology and demonstrating whether cytological study could be a proper diagnostic tool in orbital mass lesions. Materials and Methods: In a cross sectional study during 36 months, patients referred to our ophthalmologic center affiliated to Tehran University of Medical...
